Man poses as cop to sexually assault girl
Police say a man posed as a police officer and sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in Channelview earlier this month.

CHANNELVIEW, TX (KTRK) -- Police are looking for a man who they say presented himself as a law enforcement officer, ordered a 16-year-old girl into his car and sexually assaulted her in Channelview.

The assault occurred in the early morning hours of October 15. According to police, the suspect approached the victim as she walked down the street. He falsely presented himself as a police officer and told the girl that he needed to take her to the police station for violating curfew.

Police are looking for a man who they say presented himself as a law enforcement officer in order to sexually assault a teen girl in Channelview.

After the victim go into his car, the suspect drove her beneath the overpass of the Crosby Freeway near the San Jacinto River and sexually assaulted her. He was armed with a semiautomatic handgun.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot black male who weighs approximately 230 pounds. At the time of the assault, had a mustache and an earring in his left earlobe.

Police say he was driving a 2007-2009 Saturn Aura that may have had a temporary paper license plate affixed to its rear bumper.

Anybody with information about the suspect is asked to call the Harris County Sheriff's Office Child Abuse unit at 713-830-3250. Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest.
