HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is dead after authorities said he was shot before crashing into three other vehicles in northeast Harris County Wednesday night.
The scene unfolded at about 8 p.m. in the 14200 block of Lee Road at the Eastex Freeway, where Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the crash took place.
Gonzalez said the victim is believed to have been wounded at a different location before rear-ending the vehicles parked at a red light. After the crash, the victim, who was only described as a Black man, was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Authorities are now turning to the public for help to learn more about where the victim was shot, as they said his vehicle had multiple bullet strikes.
"We want the public's help to try to determine if they may have seen some type of road rage incident occurring in this area, some type of rolling disturbance, or if they were somewhere where shots were fired," Gonzalez said.
Two women in two separate vehicles were also hurt in the crash, but Gonzalez said they are in "fair conditions."
