Hannah Davis, Derek Jeter's girlfriend, lands Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover

As Derek Jeter's baseball career has come to a close, his girlfriend's modeling career is heating up.

Hannah Davis graces the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2015, which hits stands Feb. 9. The edition reaches more than 70 million people each year, which is more men 18 to 34 than the Super Bowl, the magazine said in a statement.

The model has been featured in the swimsuit issue before, but this is her first time in the coveted cover spot. The photo was shot by fashion photographer Ben Watts at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee.

Jeter is notoriously private about his personal life, but Page Six reports that the couple has been together for more than two years and that Jeter announced when he retired that he was ready to start a family.

This is an important step in Davis' modeling career, Page Six points out, as previous cover models of the issue -- such as Kate Upton and Irina Shayk -- have gone on to become top models.
