Girl, 6, dies in golf cart accident near Trinity

TRINITY, TX (KTRK) -- A little girl has been killed in a tragic accident in Trinity County.

DPS troopers were called to the scene of the accident on Huckleberry Drive, about five and a half miles west of Trinity, at about noon Sunday. Officials say two children were in a golf cart when it overturned onto its side while making a turn.

According to DPS, an eight-year-old boy was driving the golf cart at the time of the accident, and was unhurt. But the golf cart overturned onto the six-year-old passenger. Paramedics transported Kendall Lasseter to East Texas Medical Center in Trinity, where she later died.

The crash is still under investigation.
