How do our rain chances look later this week?
Rain chances decrease a bit Wednesday but start to really increase Thursday and Friday as an area of low pressure moves north from the Gulf sending more moisture our way. This area of low pressure has 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression before moving inland. Either way, it looks like it could bring us some very much needed rain. Keep in mind that some of that rain could be heavy and lead to localized flooding or ponding on roadways, but a lot of this rain will soak into the very dry soil.
Is there anything worth watching in the tropics?
Potential Storm Two has formed in the Atlantic. It's tracking towards the Windward Islands and will stay well to our south. The Gulf system is being watched off the Louisiana Gulf Coast. This system has a medium chance of development and is expected to send moisture our way this week helping with our rain chances at the end of the week.
