Texas officials warn residents should get their flu shots early this year

AUSTIN, Texas (KTRK) -- The state of Texas is urging you to get your flu shot right now before the virus begins to spread.

The Texas Department of State Health Services says the state saw about 10,000 flu and pneumonia-related deaths during the last flu season.

The flu season in Texas peaks between December through February.
