HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Just in time for Rodeo season, the Lucchese Flagship Houston boutique has been honored by the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art with the prestigious John Staub Award for its mix of western-inspired and modern interior design.

Lucchese is famous for its legendary and iconic brand of handmade Western boots. "Our boots are timeless," says Jay Hamby, Director of Retail. "We are honored because this award really embodies our timeless values, and the architect's and artisans' true passion for detail."

Details like Equestrian-style saddles from the 1940s, patch-work cow-hide rugs, Native American photography and ceiling beams made from hand-hewn white oak reclaimed from barns built in the late 1800s.

There's also a hidden gem in the back of the 5,000 square foot store, a boot design center room where customers can let their imaginations runs wild, choosing from an array of leathers, toes and heels.

"We've heard from our customers that when they walk into our store, it feels like a ranch home," says Jay. "And whenever somebody walks into our home we want them to feel welcome and really enjoy the customer experience."

Besides its famous footwear, Lucchese recently introduced a new line of Equestrian-inspired handbacks, clutches, totes and cross-body bags.
