HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's been an emotional day for Houston zoo officials who had to euthanize a 16-year-old Malayan tiger.
Pandu was one of two Houston Zoo's elderly Malayan tigers. Veterinary and tiger experts say he had stopped eating and showed signs of pain.
Malayan tigers are critically endangered with only about 300 remaining in the wild. Pandu is survived by his habitat mate, a 14-year-old female Malayan tiger named, Satu.
