NOVATO, Calif. -- It took a big effort on Monday to rescue a least 10 ducklings that fell into a storm drain in California.
Novato fire, police, and Marin Humane Society officers helped reunite the babies with their mother.
"We placed them in a box, walked over to the creek behind the shopping center right there, and we shook the box to make the ducklings to make their little peeping sound," said Andy O'Brien with the Marin Humane Society. "The mother stuck her head out of the grass, she had three others, so she had a total of 13 ducklings. And we just released them and they went running back to mum."
He says these calls about ducklings are common in the spring.
