Driver in southwest Houston spots body in median

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police say a person driving through a southwest Houston intersection found a body in the median early Monday.

According to Houston police, the body was located in the 8100 block of Cook Road, near Beechnut Street, at around 2 a.m.

A man's body appeared to have been shot, police said. Authorities also said a couple of shell casings were found near the body.

Investigators are checking the area for surveillance video of the incident.
