BROOKSHIRE, TX (KTRK) -- Old MacDonald may have had a farm, but it probably wasn't like this one.
Dewberry Farm in Brookshire features an eight-acre Corn Maze, an eight-acre pumpkin patch and more than 500 illuminated pumpkins in a dark warehouse called Punkin Hollar.
The farm is open for school field trips Monday through Friday, and it is open to the public on weekends.
More than 1,200 children visited the farm Wednesday. Heather Cook came along with her 6-year-old daughter and her school group.
"I think the plan for all the teachers and parents is to wear the kids out," Cook said, "And that is definitely happening today."
Dewberry Farm has been around since 2002. Mary Emerson and her husband Larry own it.
"So much of society has gone now to indoor activities with their iPads and iPhones," Emerson said, "To be out in the open is something that all children should experience."
Dewberry Farm was also named to the ABC-13 list of the Top 10 Pumpkin Patches, as voted on by viewers.
Dewberry Farm is open to the public on weekends only. It is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to dusk and Sundays from noon to dusk.
