WALLER, Texas (KTRK) -- In law enforcement audio, deputies describe moving in on the suspect of a Texas DPS trooper's murder on Thanksgiving.
On Thursday night, Dabrett Black was cornered by law enforcement hours after the shooting death of Trooper Damon Allen. Allen was fatally wounded during a traffic stop on I-45 near Fairfield, Texas.
Authorities received information on a suspect vehicle that tied Black to the shooting.
The manhunt took deputies to a field in Waller County near Prairie View, about 150 miles south of the original shooting.
In the audio, which was streamed on Broadcastify, deputies get help from flying aircraft and reinforcements directing them to Black.
The audio describes Black crawling behind bales of hay. Black becomes wounded during a shootout before a K-9 is deployed to subdue the suspect.
Black is behind bars in the Brazos County Detention Center on a count of capital murder of a peace officer.
