Some NHL fans were disappointed with the result of the trade deadline on Monday. But one young girl from Minnesota was ecstatic, because her daddy was finally coming home.

Jordan Leopold is an NHL player who was traded on Monday from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Minnesota Wild. This was good news for Leopold, who is a Minnesota native and was a standout hockey player at the University of Minnesota.

But shortly after news of the trade broke, a letter surfaced that was written by Leopold's 11-year-old daughter Jordyn to the coaching staff of the Minnesota Wild, seen above, pleading with them to trade for her dad.

Jordyn quickly appealed to pathos, giving a strong emotional request to the coaches. "My dad is very lonely without his family," Jordyn wrote in her letter. "We are living in Minnesota right now and I am lost without my dad, and so is my mom, my 2 sisters, and my brother."

However, Jordyn also knew to appeal to the coaches' business side, highlighting the skills her dad could bring to the franchise.

"To get to the point the Wild have not been winning games and you lovly (sic) coaches are most likely mad about that but your team needs more D men so can you please, please, please ask the Jackets if you guys can get him!"

According to ESPN, the franchise claims they never received the letter, written in January, but it was sent to KFAN 100.3 FM radio located in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Leopold's trade was already in the works before anyone from the Wild had seen the letter. But radio host Paul Allen still read the note on air, hoping that its touching message would sink through.

"It really tugged on my heart strings," Allen told ESPN on Monday. "I don't care how hard you follow the Minnesota Wild or how steely you are about your business decisions, it's the right thing to do to bring this man back to his family and give this team some blue-line depth."
