Police find student who made threats against Conroe ISD school
Police are telling parents there is no viable threat after social media posts about a school shooting threat caused a frenzy over the weekend.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) -- Police have found the student who allegedly sent frightening social media threats to shoot up a school in The Woodlands.

There will be extra police officers on campus at College Park High School Monday morning after threats were made on social media over the weekend, school officials said.

The threats began showing up in a Facebook group chat Sunday. A student allegedly made school shooting threats against College Park High School.

A parent called police and the district.

According to Conroe ISD, police determined that the threat against the school was not viable. The student's parents were informed and are reportedly taking appropriate action.

The school's principal sent ABC13 the following statement.

Earlier today, Sunday, April 11, 2021, we received notification of a threatening post from a group chat. We notified CISD police and they began their investigation. We did identify the individual that made the post in the chat. Through the investigation, the police determined that the threat was not viable. The parents of the student have been informed and are taking appropriate action. We are following our protocols regarding this issue to assure all of our students and staff are safe at school tomorrow.
We have been receiving notifications of this post as well as extra input from others regarding the issue. Please know that we have resolved the situation. To assist in the morning, I have asked for additional officers to be on our campus. They will be assisting students and staff to class and assuring we are all safe.

Please know that we take all situations like this very seriously. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority on a daily basis. We appreciate all of the communication on this situation.
