Company pays employees $7,500 to take tech-free vacations

DENVER, CO (KTRK) -- A Denver tech company may have one of the most generous vacation policies in the country. FullContact, a contact management company pays its employees $7,500 to go on vacation and unplug.

The CEO and co-founder of FullContact, Bart Lorang calls the policy, "paid, paid vacation."

There are rules involved to get the money, but the rules are plain and simple. In order to receive the bonus:

1. You have to go on vacation, or you don't get the money

2. You must disconnect

3. You can't work while on vacation

So why would a tech company that puts your contacts at your fingertips force its workers to turn off their cellphones and "go off the grid?"

"We live in a world where there's so much technology right now, we're just plugged in all of the time, " Lorang told theHuffington Post. "That has an impact on our brains in terms of how well we can actually experience creativity, joy and love and things of that nature. So it's really important to unplug to become human again."

Lorang wrote a blog on FullContact.com explaining his inspiration behind the policy.

He says he hopes the bonus entices top talent to his company and FullContact is currently hiring. Click or tap here to see open positions at the company.
