Thieves nab $35,000 statue outside NW Harris County community center

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The search is on for whoever stole a 500 pound bronze statue from outside a local community center.



It was taken outside the Coles Crossing Community Center at Barker Cypress and Jarvis in northwest Harris County.



A landscaping company noticed the statue missing Thursday morning. The statue is of a boy walking barefoot, holding a fishing pole and a string of fish. It is worth about $35,000.



Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police.
