Boy who gave up Xbox to help others gets big surprise
BEACHWOOD, Ohio (KTRK) -- An Ohio boy's good deed was rewarded with a lesson that will last a lifetime.
When Mikah Frye, 11, learned his grandmother wanted to buy him an Xbox for Christmas, he told her to spend the $300 that would have paid for the game console on blankets for the homeless instead.
Employees at Microsoft heard about Mikah's selflessness and decided to surprise him with gifts of their own. They had his family bring him to the store where Santa was waiting with gifts, including an Xbox.
Mikah and his family cried telling people how they fell on hard times a few years ago when they spent time in an emergency shelter. Now, other children without a home will be wrapped in both blankets and love, thanks to an 11-year-old with a big heart.
