New Hampshire 6-year-old collects over 1,000 books for Harvey victims

A 6-year-old girl in New Hampshire wants to help some of Hurricane Harvey's youngest victims.

Brooklyn Murray is collecting books to donate to a Houston elementary school. The first grader started by giving away some of her own books.

"We thought that it would be a good idea to collect books because they lost like, their houses, their money, their wallets and everything," said Murray.

Brooklyn's brother also donated his own books. When word reached the community about the book drive, hundreds of people joined her cause.

Brooklyn now has more than a thousand books to give to young Harvey victims. Her family plans to continue collecting them for the next couple of weeks.

They also plan to send books to storm victims in Florida.
