Woman's body found in east Harris County ditch

CLOVERLEAF, Texas (KTRK) -- The body of a woman was found in an east Harris County ditch Saturday morning, and now authorities are trying to find out who she was and how she died.

Deputies were called to the 14000 block of Victoria Street around 3 a.m. about something in the ditch when they found the woman's body, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, a Hispanic woman, appeared to be between 35 to 45 years old, investigators said. She was wearing a tank top, blue jeans, and black and white tennis shoes. She had multiple tattoos on her arms and torso.

Investigators said the woman had suffered trauma to the face, but they were still looking into an exact cause of death.
