A woman who was reportedly known for dumpster diving was found dead inside one behind a Family Dollar store in north Harris County, according to deputies.
Persia Amarra Conway's family is now demanding answers after the transgender woman's body was found last week along Bray's Bayou and Country Creek Drive, according to Houston police.
Authorities said a homeowner called Saturday night, reporting that they had found a unknown dead person in front of their residence.
The victim, who homicide detectives are reporting was a transgender person, was found next to Brays Bayou and was pronounced dead by responding HFD officials.
Coast Guard officials said that the body was discovered partially submerged in shallow water in the Big Reef during a training exercise on Saturday morning.
Authorities said that officers found the woman unresponsive near the front door of the residence, where she was later pronounced dead by HFD paramedics.
