A father in Florida utilized a little-known policy in the state to make sure he wasn't breaking any laws while disciplining his daughter.
According to the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office, the unidentified dad called a deputy over to his home on Monday so he could supervise a spanking.
Apparently he wanted to punish his 12-year-old for arguing with her sister by paddling her, but wanted to make sure he wasn't committing a crime.
Once the punishment was deemed legal, the deputy left.
The sheriff says the call actually wasn't that unusual, telling a local newspaper that he has actually supervised 12 spankings over the course of his career.
