'Bachelor' contestant undergoes double mastectomy

A former contestant on "The Bachelor" shared her very personal and emotional journey surrounding her decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy.

"Kicked cancer's a** before it could kick mine," Lesley Murphy posted on Instagram.

Murphy vied for Sean Lowe's heart on season 17 of "The Bachelor."

Recently, she tested positive for the BRCA 2 gene mutation, she wrote on Instagram. She also shared that her mom is a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed almost three years ago.

Murphy has shared each step of the double mastectomy process with her followers on Instagram.
