The dog was found back on April 4 in the 11700 block of Garrett Street with severe injuries to its head and jaw. According to investigators, the injuries were inflicted by a human.
The dog was transported to the St. Francis Angels Clinic, where it later died.
An autopsy revealed the dog died of blunt force trauma. The were several fractures to his head and his maxilla and mandibles were crushed.
