Home invasion in west Harris County

HOUSTON

It happened at a home in southwest Houston. Deputies say three strange men barged into the house.

"It really is making me nervous," said neighbor Pat Byrd. The unidentified burglars had a gun.

Residents tell Eyewitness News three women were home with two or three small children during the home invasion.

"That's really scary," said Byrd. "That's really scary that they have guns and that they're targeting small children to get petty items."

The family says it has no idea who would target them.

Neighbors like Carmen and Arturo Gonzales describe the street as generally quiet, even though there's been increasing traffic in the area.

"Different people, maybe 1 years or 2 years?" she said. "So a lot of people moving out."

Deputies say the three thieves ran off with a cell phone.

The suspects are all described as males between 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, all with slim builds with braids in their hair. One suspect wore a black sweater with black jeans. A second suspect had on a gray shirt with blue pants. The third suspect was wearing a red shirt with black jeans.

Deputies canvassed the area all afternoon looking for the armed burglars.
