San Jose resident Merces Goncalves and her husband will take their first honeymoon after 52 years of marriage after she matched five of six winning numbers in the March 4 drawing, winning $421.811, according to lottery officials.
Goncalves said she picked the five winning numbers - 10, 29, 31, 35 and 45 - by matching them to numbers from inside her fortune cookie.
The Mega winning number was 10, and had Goncalves selected the Mega number she would have won $240 million in the March 4 drawing.
Still, she's pleased with her winnings.
"I don't care that I didn't hit the big one," she said, according to lottery officials.
Goncalves and her husband will take the honeymoon trip they couldn't afford when they got married 52 years ago.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Riconada Liquors, located at 1480 Pollard Road in Los Gatos.
