Those schools are Nathaniel Q Henderson Elementary, Port Houston Elementary and Fleming Middle School.
In a statement from HISD, Superintendent Terry Grier says the school closure process has been about dialogue and feedback. The district received feedback from meetings held at each school and other discussions with community members.
The two remaining schools, Dodson Elementary and Jones High School, are still up for closure.
The school board will vote on the proposals for those schools at next week's board meeting.
