The Harris County Precinct Four Constable's Office, District Attorney Devon Anderson's office, and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers are coordinating an impaired driver enforcement initiative. This will run throughout north Harris County Saturday through New Year'S Day.
Precinct Four just saw two accused drunk drivers crash into their officers a few weeks ago.
"We had two patrols and one deputy injured within minutes by drunk drivers. They do say that when you're impaired, you tend to veer into lights and that's exactly what happened to both of our patrol cars," said Pct. 4 Assistant Chief Mark Hermann.
Harris County leads the nation in drunk driving.
