Two killed during Christmas morning shootout at club near downtown Houston

HOUSTON

It happened early Wednesday morning at the Nox Club in the 4700 block of Nett near Shepherd, just northwest of downtown.

As Club Nox was letting out just after 2am, police say a fight broke out between two men, identified as 30-year-old Brian Washington and 25-year-old Patrick Prince.

Prince produced a gun and began shooting at Washington, striking him multiple times, police say. Washington reportedly pulled a gun and returned fire, striking Prince at least once.

Washington died at the scene. Prince was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say a third person was injured.

"Two men are dead, a third had a slight wound. We are detaining him and speaking to him at homicide," HPD Sgt. Peg Jewell said.

The motive of the shooting is still unclear, but friends of one of the victims say the shooting started after he asked another man to move his car.

Both weapons used in this incident were taken. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of those weapons is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
