Man, woman kidnapped at knifepoint in north Houston

HOUSTON

Police say a man in his 60s and a woman in her 40s went to buy drugs and then went back to the woman's mother's apartment in the 15000 block of Crosswinds. Two men in their late teens or early 20s opened the door, which had been left unlocked, and ordered the man and woman into the man's SUV at knifepoint.

One of the suspects drove the vehicle to three different ATMs, trying to use the man's card to withdraw money. The suspects didn't have any luck, and the man eventually jumped out of the car at Greens Road and Northborough and went to call for help.

The woman jumped out a couple blocks later, and the suspects ditched the car and bailed out at Ella and Gears Road, running into the woods.

Police say the man and woman who were kidnapped were not hurt.

Officers searched for the suspects by helicopter and K-9 units for several hours before calling off the search. If arrested, the suspects face kidnapping charges.

Because of the circumstances of the kidnapping, police are looking into any possible connections betweent the woman and the suspects. Detectives will be interviewing both the man and the woman to try to find out more.
