28th Annual Uptown Holiday Lighting tradition for many

HOUSTON

It's the 28th year for the Uptown Holiday Lighting event and it certainly has become a tradition for many Houston area families. Also a tradition is the balcony decorating contest at the Hilton Houston Post Oak. One couple joining in on the action for the first time tell us they spent more than $200 for decorations just to light up their balcony.

It is from there, that they will watch what most people line the street for -- the amazing fireworks. After Santa Claus lights more than half a million holiday lights 80 trees lining Post Oak Boulevard and along building rooftops, families enjoy a choreographed musical show that lights up the Galleria area sky.

The event is free and open to the public.
