According to investigators, the driver of a black Nissan made an illegal turn at the intersection of Victory and Shepherd. That driver was hit by a Dodge Charger, which then slammed into the officer, who was waiting at the stoplight.
The police officer transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Houston police said both of the other drivers face citations.
