'Beetlejuice' among suspects nabbed in Conroe underage sex sting

HOUSTON

According to the arrest report, Jeromy Leax, a 39-year-old storage facilities owner, showed up on Halloween dressed as the movie character Beetlejuice to meet two young boys for sex.

"He believed he was meeting an 11- and 13-year-old ," Conroe Police Department Sgt. Dorcy Riddle said.

The youngest suspect, 24-year-old James Messina, allegedly wanted an incest situation with two girls who were sisters.

"He expressed interest in an incest-type situation; that's how he posted it, he wanted to have sex with a 16-year-old and her 12-year-old sister," Riddle said.

Police also arrested Jeff Davenport, 49, Daniel Taylor, 28, and 27-year-old Seth Jones.

Police say each of them believed he was meeting a child he had contacted online or by text message to engage in sex. When the men arrived at the prearranged location, though, they were met by police.

Taylor's neighbors in Conroe were very concerned.

"I have three little girls that are in the house, and that is creeping me out especially with my kids in the front yard," neighbor Brandy Wells said.

And that's why investigators want to spread the message. They say the person next door could be a threat to your children.

Jones is a married father-of-two who works at an auto parts store. Taylor is married with three children and two stepchildren. And Messina works at Trader's Village.

All the men are currently out of jail on bond.
