Sheriff Garcia confirmed to Eyewitness News that his home was targeted by burglars and several personal items, including a pistol, were stolen from his house.
"We just realize that crime is an equal opportunity offender, and like other citizens who are in our community who play by the rules sometimes, they get victimized by those evil-doers in our community," Garcia said. "Our home was broken into and so we are asking the public, as we typically do, if you've got information, call Crime Stoppers or download your Iwatch county app, send me a tip on that guy because I'd love nothing more than to introduce him to the county jail."
Houston police were on the scene Friday investigating the break-in.
Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 222-TIPS (8477).
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the filing of felony charges or arrest of the suspect in this case. Tips can also be sent by text message. Text TIP610 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637). All tipsters remain anonymous.
