Families of fallen Houston firefighters getting big donation

HOUSTON

The Houston firefighters' relief and retirement fund presented a check for $50,000 to the 100 Club, the money comes from the Loomis Sayles investment firm. This money will go into a survivors fund, which is helping three firefighters still recovering from the May 31 fire.

"Captain Dowling is still hospitalized. Firefighters Livecy and Yarbrough are confined to wheelchairs and we are told that those two individuals could be off of work for up to a year," 100 Club Executive Director Rick Hartley said.

The 100 Club says it has given $916,000 to the survivors of the four firefighters killed and those injured in the motel fire.
