Man charged in crash that killed wrecker driver on Southwest Freeway

HOUSTON

Roger Mark Lovell is charged with intoxication manslaughter. Investigators say Lovell drove around a barricade set up by 54-year-old Ahmad Said Naser, who was trying to helped a stalled motorist in the 5900 block of the Southwest Freeway on the night of April 5.

Police say Lovell, 51, was intoxicated when he crashed into the stalled car, killing Naser.

The female driver of the Corolla was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of her injuries. The passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
