A local pastor is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a car that ran into her church in north Houston.

It happened around 5:30pm Saturday at the Word of Truth Revival Center on North Houston Rosslyn near West Little York. Police say Annie Brooks was closing up the church for the night when a car crashed through the wall.

Brooks' son tells us she was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

"Her injuries, she sustained broken fibula ... and her ankle and it just about severed her foot right off," said the victim's son Kenneth Brooks.

The pastor's son says he believes the driver may have been allowing her 13-year-old son to drive and that he may have accidentally pushed the gas instead of the brake. Services were held as planned Sunday.

So far there is no word on any charges against the driver.
