Deputies found the victim lying on the sidewalk on Bammel Wood and Kuykendahl around 1am.
Investigators say the bullet went through the victim's cheek bone. He's in serious condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Detectives are questioning witnesses who said they saw the victim fighting with someone earlier in the night. No arrests have been made.
