Denton County Jail records show 76-year-old Michael Stolz of Lewisville was held Wednesday on a murder charge.
Bond was not immediately set for Stolz, who was arrested around 10 p.m. Tuesday to end a nearly five-hour standoff. Online jail records did not list an attorney for him.
Capt. Kevin Deaver says co-workers were concerned that the woman was absent for several days and called police.
Police say Stolz refused to cooperate with officers. He barricaded himself in the home until a law enforcement robot was sent in and determined the man was not armed.
The woman's name was not immediately released. An autopsy has been ordered.
