Firefighters were called out to the home on Stassen Street at Southview around 9:1pm Friday.
When they arrived, they had to cut through burglar bars to search for any possible trapped residents.
No one was home at the time, but the flames intensified and forced crews to go fight the fire from the outside.
The blaze was put out a short time later.
No one was seriously hurt.
