Man robbed while selling flowers on the road

A man is facing charges after police say he robbed a a man selling flowers overnight. They say they caught the robber a short time after the alleged crime just north of downtown Houston.

HPD says it all happened around 1am after the suspect approached the mobile flower salesman on Genova and Cochran. Authorities say the suspect asked for change, but the victim told him he'd have to go to an ATM first.

Police say when the suspect followed him to the ATM, he robbed the flower salesman and took off. But shortly after, the suspect turned right in front of a K-9 unit where the officer had just received the robbery call.

The officer followed the suspect all the way to his home, where he was arrested without incident.

Police have not been able to locate the victim. The suspect is charged with traffic violations. More charges are expected.
