Reward increased to find person behind deadly home invasion

Margaret Gage was killed during a violent home invasion last month. At a press conference on Thursday, an increased reward was announced to find her killer.

Crime Stoppers and Houston police have announced an increased reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for a deadly home invasion in southwest Houston. That reward money is now up to $10,000.

The home invasion happened on January 12 at around 8:45pm. Bill and Margaret Gage were in their home in the 5700 block of Sanford when they heard their dog barking in the back yard.

When Bill went to investigate, a man forced his way in and began to assault him. Margaret tried to help her husband, but was also brutally beaten by the suspect.

Police say the suspect led Bill around the house, forcing him to point out valuables. The suspect fled the home with the Gages' property.

Barbara was rushed to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The suspect is described as a tall and slender malewith a dark complexion.
