Accused child predator may have met other victims online

HOUSTON

Investigators with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office have determined that the defendant, Charles Donelley, met the 15-year-old female victim online and arranged to meet her not far from her home to engage in sexual intercourse. Investigators also believe that this may not be only time the suspect has initiated contact with underage girls by using the internet.

Though Donelley is from La Porte, investigators say victims could be scattered throughout multiple jurisdictions.

U.S. Marshals say a Park Ranger caught Donelley, 47, having sex with the 15-year-old girl in a park on June 18. He was taken into custody, but escaped. Five days later, he was arrested after marshals received a tip on this whereabouts. Donelley is facing charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and escape.

Anyone who may have had contact with Donelley should call Texas Ranger Wesley Doolittle at 936-760-5871 or they can provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest or indictment of a felony crime. Call 800-392-STOP (7867). Anonymous tips can also be made through the Montgomery County Crime Stoppers website here.
