Investigation underway after deadly auto-pedestrian wreck

An investigating is underway after a deadly auto-pedestrian accident in northwest Harris County. It happened Friday in the early evening hours in the 9100 block of Highway 6 near Jackrabbit Road. According to deputies, the driver of a Jeep was attempting to merge into the main lanes of traffic and was looking over his shoulder to do so. When he looked back in front of him, he saw a pedestrian and was unable to avoid hitting him.

The pedestrian was taken to North Cypress Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
