Girl says man tried to abduct her walking to school

HOUSTON

The girl says she was walking to Foerster Elementary School around 7:25am Monday when a man in a red pickup truck grabbed her at the corner of Fairmont and Fonmeadow, approximately a half-mile from the school. The student was able to escape and told school officials what had happened. She was not hurt.

A voicemail send by the Foester principal asked parents to tell their students to walk in groups and to run away from strangers if they are approached. The principal also said the Houston police were increasing patrols around the area.
