DPS: Just say no to telemarketers
HOUSTON
The DPS wants you to say no thanks, and hang up. DPS officials say they've gotten numerous complaints from people who say telemarketers have been using high-pressure tactics to solicit funds on behalf of the department.
Often, the caller will say they're collecting money to help out after the death of a state trooper.
The DPS says it never solicits financial contributions from citizens on the phone.
