Untreated waste water spills in northeast Houston

The City of Houston says a sewer system problem caused 100,000 gallons of untreated waste water to spill out. Over the course of four hours last night, the sewage dumped into the area near the intersection of Lockwood and Buffalo Bayou. Crews plan to work on repairing the damage to the storm sewer later today, once the water levels go down.

City officials say residents are not in any danger from the waste water.
