Funeral services were held at St. John's this morning for Nancy Shank. Her son is accused of stabbing her to death. Police believe 20-year-old John Shank fought with his mother at their River Oaks-area home last Wednesday, then stabbed her and fled. He is now jailed on $500,000 bond. Nancy Shank was on the board of the Blue Bird Circle and was an active volunteer at several private high schools. Her husband is prominent lawyer Daniel Shank.
