Motorcyclist dies after slamming into METRO bus

HOUSTON SkyEye HD was over the scene of the accident which happened on Hempstead Highway near Long Point. Investigators say the bus was trying to make a left turn onto Long Point when the motorcycle crashed into it. The motorcycle burst into flames, killing the person who was on it.

METRO says there were three passengers on the bus at the time who were not injured, and left the scene on their own.

The bus driver is said to be OK, but extremely shaken from the incident.

The agency said the bus was taken out of service for routine inspection after the accident to make sure there were no mechanical issues.
