BAE Systems starts first round of layoffs

HOUSTON The company is cutting the positions in Sealy and at a plant in Michigan. BAE started eliminating about 600 temporary positions last month, and it's looking to cut up to 1,300 jobs overall.

BAE says the workers who are laid off are getting severance packages.
