Stafford's 59 Diner sign destroyed in fire
STAFFORD, TX
The sign for the 59 Diner was destroyed in a fire.
Customers spotted the fire on top of the tower attached to the restaurant in Stafford on Sunday afternoon. About 35 people were evacuated while firefighters put out the flames.
"If you look at the structure, it's completely separated," said Stafford Police Department Detective Raphael Virata. "Well, it's attached, but there's no entry into that structure. There's very little damage to the actual restaurant."
No one was hurt.
The health department will have to inspect the restaurant before it can reopen.
